Ammonium Nitrate, Purified is a white crystalline solid which is highly soluble in water. It is most commonly used in agriculture as a nitrogen fertilizer. It is a main component in some explosives and also finds use in instant cold packs as hydrating the salt is an endothermic process. The Purified Grade describes chemicals of good quality where there are no official standards and is normally limited to inorganic chemicals.
