CCT2 (chaperonin containing TCP1, subunit 2) gene encodes a molecular chaperone that is a subunit of the chaperonin containing TCP1 complex (CCT). This complex is also called as TCP1 ring complex (TRiC), and contains two identical stacked rings. These rings are composed of eight different proteins.
