The gene CNTROB (centrobin) is mapped to human chromosome 17p13. The protein localizes in the centrioles and is also present in the cytoplasm. Solution in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 40% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide Centrobin recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST) CNTROB (centrobin) is involved in the centriole assembly, bipolar mitotic spindle assembly, microtubule polymerization and asymmetric cell division. It associates with CEP152 (centrosomal protein 152) and CPAP (centrosomal P4.1-associated protein). The centrobin-CPAP interaction is needed for the centriole duplication. Mutations in CNTROB are associated with breast cancer susceptibility.
