MBOAT2 (membrane bound O-acyltransferase domain containing 2) is a member of the LPCAT (lyso-PC acyltransferase) family of proteins, and is called LPCAT4. It is an acyltransferase, which is membrane-bound. In mice, MBOAT2 mRNA is predominantly expressed in brain, epididymis, testis, and ovary. Its C-terminal contains the ER (endoplasmic reticulum)-localization motif KKXX.
