PTK6 (protein tyrosine kinase 6) belongs to intracellular tyrosine kinases family. It is normally expressed in epithelial cells of skin, gastrointestinal tract and prostate. It is also called as breast tumor kinase (brk), for its critical role in progression of breast cancer. The PTK6 gene is located on the human chromosome 20q13.33. PTK6 protein is expressed in two isoforms. Anti-PTK6 rabbit polyclonal antibody has been used in microarray analysis of PTK6 in breast tumor samples. It may also be used to detect protein tyrosine kinase 6 using western blot analysis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
