Ras and Rab interactor 3 (RIN3) is a novel Rab5-binding protein, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 14q32. The encoded protein belongs to the RIN family of RAS effectors. RIN3 contains a SH2 domain, proline-rich domain, RH domain, vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein (Vps9) domain and ras-associating (RA) domain in the N- terminal region. RIN3 show tissue-specific expression and is highly expressed in mast cells. Anti-RIN3 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry.
