UBE2G2 (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2G 2) gene is mapped to human chromosome 21q22.3. It is predominantly expressed in adult muscles and to some extent in other tissues. UBE2G2 is a single domain comprising of an antiparallel β-sheet with four strands, five α-­helices and two 3₁₀-helices.
