Zinc finger protein 746 (ZNF746) is also called parkin-interacting substrate (PARIS). It has a Krüppel-associated box and a zinc finger at its N-terminal and C-terminal respectively. This results in neurodegeneration in Parkinson′s disease. It also interacts with Parkin, an ubiquitin E3 ligase. It has been shown that there is a loss of dopaminergic neurons in the brain when ZNF746 is overexpressed.
