Developed according to Mossel’s formulation, this medium promotes the recovery of sub-lethally injured Enterobacteriaceae while inhibiting the growth of non-target organisms, making it an essential tool in microbial quality testing and regulatory compliance protocols.
This formulation contains glucose, bile salts, brilliant green, and phosphate buffers, which create a selective environment that favors the growth of Enterobacteriaceae while suppressing Gram-positive and many non-Enterobacteriaceae Gram-negative bacteria.
