m-FC Agar is used for the detection of faecal coliforms by the membrane filtration technique. Dissolve 52 g in 1 litre distilled water and heat to boiling to dissolve completely. Add 10 ml of a 1 % solution of rosolic acid (Cat. No. 861324) in 0.2 N NaOH. Continue heating for 1 minute with frequent agitation. Do not autoclave! Cool to 45-50°C. Dispense 4 ml amounts into Petri dishes (50-60mm) and allow to solidify. We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs. The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
