MagBeads FastDNA/RNA Kit for Virus, 192 PREPS

The MagBeads FastDNA/RNA™ Kit for Virus is designed to quickly and effectively isolate high-quality DNA and RNA from cell-free or low cell content biological samples up to 200 µL. Samples are treated with proteases which release DNA/RNA into the lysate. Carrier RNA is included in the kit to promote precipitation and highest recovery of nucleic acids from liquid samples and biological fluids. After addition of magnetic beads and binding solution, DNA/RNA is adsorbed onto the surface of the beads, and impurities such as proteins and other inhibitors are washed away. This kit is versatile and can be used with most automated nucleic acid extraction platforms available in the market. Alternatively, extractions can be performed manually using microcentrifuge tubes (see Cat. No. 115081500 and 115083500) or 96-deep well plates (see Cat. No. 115095050) with a magnetic stand (see Cat. No. 116570413, 116570426, and 116570429). The kit is equipped with reagents specially formulated to remove common inhibitory substances found in liquid biological samples, such as proteins and enzyme inhibitors. The kit has been tested with a wide array of sources, including serum, plasma, blood, and tissue culture supernatant. As a result, the output is highly pure DNA/RNA that is suitable for PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, Sequencing, and other molecular biology applications. Performance Data MagBeads FastDNA/RNA Kit for Virus can efficiently isolate nucleic acids with concentrations as low as 103 copies/mL. This kit was compared to a CE-certified supplier kit. Extraction results were evaluated using Ct values from amplified viral DNA/RNA purified using MagBeads FastDNA/RNA Kit for Virus and a supplier kit following either A.) Manual or B.) Automated protocols. When compared to Supplier A, MagBeads FastDNA/RNA Kit for Virus demonstrated compatibility with both manual and automated extraction methods and successful extraction of viral DNA/RNA from samples with concentrations as low as 103 nucleic acid copies/mL.
