The RETSCH SM 100 Cutting Mill is a workhorse laboratory size‑reduction instrument designed for soft to medium‑hard, elastic, fibrous, and heterogeneous sample materials. It reduces sample size using a cutting / shearing principle: material is fed through a hopper, contacted by a rotor and cutting bars, and material that is small enough exits through the bottom sieve. With a rated voltage of 220‑230 V 50/60 Hz, it is compatible with most international lab power supplies. It’s especially suited for routine sample prep in labs processing biomass, plastics, food, feed, environmental, or recycling materials, etc.
