Tryptic Soy Agar with 5% Sheep’s Blood and Esculin 20mL, 10/Pk is an enriched differential medium designed for the cultivation, isolation, and presumptive identification of a wide variety of fastidious microorganisms, particularly Gram-positive cocci and Enterococci. The addition of 5% sheep’s blood supports the growth of fastidious organisms and enables hemolytic pattern differentiation, while esculin hydrolysis helps distinguish species based on their ability to break down esculin in the presence of bile.

Commonly used in clinical and environmental microbiology, this medium is ideal for selective detection of Group D Streptococci and other esculin-positive organisms.
